Georgia's Regions
Appalachian Plateau
Georgia's Appalachian Plateau region is located in the Northwest Corner of the state. It is the only spot in Georgia with coal reserves. It is also known as the TAG corner because this is where Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia come together. It sits 1,800 to 2,000 feet above sea level. It is the smallest region of Georgia. It has narrow valleys and wooded ridges. In this area, you can go hang gliding, hiking, camping, and whitewater rafting. Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon, and Sand Mountain are in this region
